The Rutledge Center is a 501(C)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization
which was established in 1968. Its purpose is to serve and promote the general welfare of individuals with developmental
disabilities that live in Newnan and Coweta County. We provide services which enhance the development of human dignity
and growth toward self-sufficiency.
A thirteen member Board of Directors, which serves in a voluntary
capacity, governs NCARC/Rutledge. Fifteen staff members under the direction of an Executive Director perform the daily operations of the organization. All staff have
received extensive development training in critical areas of health education, public law, awareness issues, and direct job-related
subjects.
Philosophy
It is the philosophy of NCARC/Rutledge to provide the consumer/participant access to and involvement
with a well-trained and devoted staff that pledge full commitment to meeting the needs of the individual. The total
development of each participant will guide each decision, action, and direction. Specifically, the staff will be committed
to providing:
- Programs that maximize developmental opportunities that foster movement into society's mainstream.
- Programs that aid in improving interpersonal relations, quality of life, and skills.
- Opportunities to integrate into the community through employment, independent living and involvement.
- Activities that promote family and community involvement, personality development, and self-reliance.
- Environments that are safe, secure, and supportive.
- Information and training consistent with individual's interest and needs.
